Your final project in this class will give you the opportunity to put all your photographic, artistic and communication skills together in the creation of a “seamless” photo-collage.  This project will require you to create a unified scene made from several different images that you, yourself, have taken. The project itself is worth 100 project points.

Then on the day of our final exam, each student will present his or her project and the process used to create the final piece. This presentation is worth 50 test points.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, there is a power point attachment at the top of this post that you can access to see past examples of this project.

Project Directions

This is a scaffolding project to prepare you for your final in this class. By scaffolding, I mean, all the skills you will need to be successful in your Photography final will be used in this project. You will be working with layers in Photo Shop, cleaning up edges and adding digital effects to give a realistic and seamless quality to your work. The intent of this assignment is to create a humorous or surrealistic juxtaposition of images to create a scene. For this to be successful, you will need to use superior craftsmanship as well as cast shadows and other digital techniques to make the impossible look plausible. Step by step directions for this assignment are linked to this blog.
